When playing in GA SIM, all my shots are going to the left. What can I do to fix this?
This usually occurs when the Hit From Turf and Putting locations settings are set to hit from the tee and not directly off the turf. From the Main Menu go to Admin (top right) and then click on GA Settings. Click on the “Restore Default” button, or manually change the Side location to 13.7 and the Back location to -2.0 for both the Hit From Turf and Putting settings.

My GA SIM unit light stays yellow/orange and doesn’t turn green, what should I do?

  • Lasers out of alignment
  • The most common reason for a unit light to not turn green is that the lasers are out of alignment. Adjust your lasers so that they are aligned with your base and post sensors. To learn how to do this, view the instructional video above.

  • Something is blocking the laser
  • Check to make sure that nothing is obstructing your lasers. Examples: front of your hitting turf is raised too high and slightly blocks the lasers, (use turf clip to keep the turf in place) your metal protector is not positioned securely in your base locator, a red lens on your base or post arm is cracked, or a golf ball is sitting too close to your base arm.

  • Serial or Atake Serial to USB cable is not secure
  • Make sure the Serial cable and/or Atake Serial to USB adapter cable connections to and from GA SIM unit and PC are secure and no pins are missing or bent, which may cause a faulty connection.

  • Power supply is not providing power to your unit
  • Your power supply may not be plugged in securely. Make sure both ends of your power supply are securely plugged into their correct locations. Check to make sure the outlet your power supply is plugged into is receiving power properly as well. If the LED power light on your GolfAchiever SIM unit still does not turn on, your power supply could be damaged and need to be replaced.

  • Serial to USB Atake cable is not recognized by your operating system when plugged in
  • A software driver needs to be downloaded for you USB cable so it can work properly. On your GA SIM software disc main menu, click on Other Software and then click on Install Atake USB-Serial Driver. Once the installation is successfully completed, and you insert your cable, a message will quickly display “Prolific Hardware Found”. Now, your GolfAchiever Sim can communicate with your PC!

  • Multiple GolfAchiever programs open
  • Having multiple GolfAchiever programs open will cause problems with connectivity. Exit out of all GolfAchiever programs and then re-open the desired program again making sure that only one is open this time to fix this issue. If the problem persists, check the Processes tab in your Windows Task Manager for any processes labeled “GA” or GolfAchiever, end those processes, and then open the desired GolfAchiever software.
